Nigeria and India have signed MoUs to boost cooperation

Nigeria and India have signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen their cooperation in various sectors. One of the key areas of collaboration is in the renewable energy sector, where they aim to develop new and renewable energy technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, biomass/bio-energy, small hydro, and capacity building . This partnership is expected to boost Nigeria's energy sector and promote sustainable development.

 

Additionally, the two countries have signed MoUs on defence cooperation, which has led to high-level visits and enhanced bilateral interaction . They have also agreed on mutual cooperation and trade, as outlined in the Protocol for Consultations between India and Nigeria .

 

Some of the key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and India include:

Renewable Energy: Development of solar energy, wind energy, biomass/bio-energy, small hydro, and capacity building 

Defence Cooperation: Enhanced bilateral interaction and high-level visits 
Trade and Commerce: Mutual cooperation and trade agreements
Economic Development: Collaboration on economic development projects and initiatives

These agreements demonstrate the growing partnership between Nigeria and India, and are expected to have a positive impact on the economic and social development of both countries.
