Hamas Releases Three Israeli Hostages Amid Fragile Ceasefire

In a significant development, Hamas has released three Israeli hostages, including American-Israeli Sagui Dekel-Chen, following a ceasefire agreement that has seen multiple exchanges between the two parties. The hostages were handed over to the Red Cross in Khan Younis, Gaza, and have since been reunited with their families in Tel Aviv.

This exchange is part of an ongoing ceasefire that began on January 19, 2025, facilitating the release of 21 hostages and over 730 Palestinian prisoners to date. The latest swap involved the release of over 300 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the three Israeli hostages.

Despite these developments, tensions remain high. The Israeli Defense Forces are reportedly making "offensive plans," and U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed support for Israel should it decide to resume military operations.

The situation remains fluid, with international mediators urging both sides to maintain the ceasefire and work towards a lasting peace.
